Budget Update

  • Accountant fees, General projects fund
  • Bank AGAIN charged $5 fee
  • Current balance $14,069.17

2020 Projects

  • Franklin St median maintenance – Sat June 27, 2020 @ 3:30 – cleanup/weeding, schedule second date for planting – something full sun, weather hearty
  • Hoopes park summer/fall cleanup, maintenance and planting – possibly mums- Sarah to follow up with Seamus Rhodes park manager
  • Welcome sign Rt. 38 and Seward Park sign – Chuck said city workers will paint w/in next month-ish

Permaculture Park Update

  • Starting installation of living willow structure – dome already taking form, volunteers needed
  • Still working on sign installation

Other Business

  • Stop emailing Tina P. and Frank M.
  • Possible trash pick-up @ River walk/ Market Street Park
  • Possible sign on Dunning Ave
  • Other ideas??

  • Hoopes park summer planting – possibly mini sunflowers – Sarah to follow up with Seamus Rhodes park manager

Permaculture Park Update

  • Spring has been good, plants growing nicely
  • Possibly starting living willow installation Tuesday June 9

Call to order at 5:00pm, Mitch has spoken with Tim he is doing well, but busy- we are worried about Pete?? Pete are you ok?

Update Senior Signs- donated $500 – lawn signs will be placed all along front of AHS yard with pictures of each senior and their name

Budget Update

Did we receive a “990” from the business place (who does our taxes- I didn’t catch sorry) – a Budget snapshot – Joe to look into

Joe able to sign into Bank – Finally

Bank AGAIN charged $5 fee

Question why we are using this bank – maybe Auburn Federal Credit Union

2020 Projects

Park Pick-up day:  CANCELLED 😢 due to NY Pause and social distancing, city cancelled all May events

Market Street Park – possible benches or picnic tables, Hanging flowers

Franklin Street Median – we were going to meet with current “caretakers” at March meeting, but it was cancelled

Planting of summer flowers after tulips peak at Hoopes Park- daffodils coming in, tulips coming in slowly

Unfortunately Projects ON HOLD until NY Pause lifted

Motion made by Chuck to make annual $2000 donation to BID “Flower Power” planting for city wide flower pots, 2nd by Sarah, Unanimous

Chuck showed us all how to change Zoom background and that Auburn Equal Rights Heritage made “Auburn” images free to use

  • Discussion about request for proposals, shared on various Facebook pages.   Discussed cleanup of cross @ veterans park. Mitch to follow-up with Tim Locastro and gentlemen from Nick’s Ride

Budget Update

  • Received $5000 from city, and check cleared from $100 donation.  Main expenses for the month were web expenses.  Joe had to go to bank and update access as bank updated their software.

RFP

  • Discussion about request for proposals, shared on various Facebook pages.  Will allow for more responses within the next month.  Most responses were centered on park repair which city will focus on with CDBG money.  Suggestion of possible  “Tree of Steel” art installation on Arterial (Nucor  & BOCES welding class collaboration)

2020 Projects

  • Park Pick-up day:  April 25th, 2020 9am.  HQ – Veterans Park.  Will post on Social Media.  Chuck to update flyer.  Mitch to make spreadsheet

  • Still getting charged $5 Fees – Maybe because we are listed as Small business rather than 501(c) not for profit – Joe to investigate further
  • Everyone should consider where to cut for 2020 budget since we will be getting a smaller allotment from the city $5,000 instead of $10,000

● Approve previous minutes: Secretary’s (Sarah) computer malfunctioning- unable to type up minutes before meeting

● Mitch brought ABC shirts for those who did not have them yet

● Joe reported on ABC sponsored Music/Concert in the Park – Nuclear Ukulele- approximately 25 people attended

● Mitch reported that Curtis and Jessica have submitted letters of resignation

● Current status of board is out of compliance with by-laws (require 7 members)- RECRUIT!!!

● Equal Rights Heritage Event – September 28
● Sell Tulips: 3 for $1
● Pass out Brochure/Flyer
● Joe and Sarah volunteered to work table from 9-1
● Tim volunteered to work 1-2
● To discuss specifics of event on next meeting date

● Possible new project: Neighborhood Book lending library – Pete sent details
● approx $3,640 for 5 boxes
● to discuss/approve when we have quorum

● Neighborhood revitalization project- need to get on the NYS Charities Bureau Registration before we can start collecting/giving out funds- Mitch to look into
● Possibly invite Oswego group to meeting to discuss how they started/implement project
